OKK Koksovny, a.s. emphasises the minimising of negative effects on the environment during coke production. The reason is its very activity in an industry perceived by public negatively due to its impact on the environment. Its ecological impacts are monitored also because it operates in Ostrava Region which had the reputation of one of the most afflicted parts of the Czech Republic due to the heavy industry there.

Company also deems necessary to inform public openly about its activities which impact the environment. OKK publishes individual indicators of the technical facilities ecologisation in its annual reports. They are controlled by external inspecting authorities and audits including administrative authorities (The Czech Environmental Inspectorate, Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Regional Hygiene Station) as well as public.

The helpfulness of OKK in the area of living environment is the basic presumption for gaining trust of citizens. The company management will strive systematically for the continuous improvement of the ecological profile also in the future.
