Detailed information on air protection
Where air protection is concerned, the company has focused on the correct operation and maintenance of environmental facilities, including the continuous monitoring of operated technologies, and the implementation of requirements specified in Act No. 86/2002 of Czech Legislation, including related bylaws and government resolutions, and the implementation and observation of obligations ensuing from Act No. 695/2004 of Czech Legislation, regarding carbon emission credit trading, and from Act No. 76/2002 of Czech Legislation, regarding Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC), including the Integrated Pollution Register.
Implementation of Act No. 86/2002 of Czech Legislation, including:
- classification of air pollution sources,
- regular preparation of documentation for levy administration and the central register of pollution sources,
- development and updating of operational codes,
- visualisation and monitoring of dust-removal and desulphurisation units,
- finding a solution to the coal gas surplus.
Regular patrols monitor undesired emissions visually and check for the correct operation of environmental facilities. Numerous control and authorised measurements are taken in order to obtain data necessary for the determination of emissions, to be used in the levy administration, in accordance with air pollution legislation (Act No. 86/2002 of Czech Legislation).
- Tasks ensuing from Act No. 76/2002 of Czech Legislation, regarding the integrated permit:
- updating of the integrated permit in line with modifications and amendments;
- regular training regarding the register of pollution sources, including collection of data for the central register of air pollution sources;
participation in audits performed by the Czech Environmental Inspectorate (observation of mandatory conditions for the operation of facilities specified in the IPPC resolution).
As regards maintenance and operation, the impermeability of the coking chamber walls is regularly checked, among other measures.
