The control and operation of the waste management system in OKK Koksovny, a. s., complies with all applicable legal regulations. The total volume of waste produced by the company in 2010 was 5,282 tonnes. Only one per cent of the volume was hazardous waste, with the remainder primarily comprising:
- Waste from reconstruction of coking battery No. 8 73 %
- Separated metal waste (scrap metal) 12 %
- Waste from repairs to internal linings of coking chambers 5 %
The volume of produced waste materials increased compared to the previous year due to repairs and works at coking battery No. 8.
The outlay related to waste disposal and waste management exceeded CZK 4 million in 2010.
