With Ostrava and other regions currently plagued by increased volumes of dust particles in the air, OKK Koksovny, a.s., has put its new sweeping and cleaning vehicle into full operation. The vehicle, built on an AVIA undercarriage, was purchased with the company’s own investment resources.
Decreasing the dustiness within the company's operational premises and the immediate surroundings is an ongoing task that forms part of the environmental activities pursued by OKK Koksovny. Previously secured as a third-party service, the dust reduction process did not prove optimally efficient. The new dust-collecting cleaning vehicle will be operated, contrary to the previous practice, in accordance with immediate operational needs and will be used, inter alia, to clean new firm-surface operational areas recently adapted for machine cleaning.
The modern, automated dust-collecting sweeper offers a service life of at least 10 years during which period it is expected to remove approximately 5,000 tonnes of dust.
